Canal Futura
Canal Futura provides technology to create and broadcast educational and cultural programming for social change.
Only half of Brazilians reach high school. The country’s inadequate education system is exacerbated by poverty, Brazil’s tremendous size, and its heterogeneity of cultures and languages. Access to education is severely limited.
Canal Futura takes advantage of the near universal access to television in Brazil to provide free, vital educational programming to 33 million people. The topics range from the environment, culture, and human rights, to drug prevention and entrepreneurism. Many of the programs are created in partnership with local educational and social organizations, ensuring relevance and providing people with knowledge needed for daily lives.
