Skyonic harnesses technology to capture greenhouse gases before they escape power plants.

The carbon dioxide, heavy metals, and acid gasses emitted from coal-burning power plants are contributing to global warming and contaminating our environment. While alternative power sources are being explored, for the foreseeable future, the world depends on coal-generated electricity.

Joe David Jones combined two established processes into a new system for trapping toxic power-plant pollutants before they escape into our air and water. His SkyMineTM system can be retrofitted to any plant, where it captures flue gas. It electrochemically transforms carbon dioxide into non-toxic bicarbonate and traps mercury, acid gasses, nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide for safe disposal. And the byproducts include profitable chemicals, giving corporations a bottom-line incentive to clean up their wastes.
