The Global Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual, corporation, or organization that has been a distinguished leader in promoting solutions for
the most serious issues facing humanity and our environment, as outlined by the Millennium Report of the United Nations. The recipient is selected by The
Tech Museum.

Bill Gates, Chairman, Microsoft, is the recipient of the 2006 James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian Award. Through The Bill and
Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates focuses his energies on global health issues, especially HIV prevention and treatment; improving education; and
reducing poverty in the developing world. His vision exemplifies the spirit of The Tech Awards and his work brings us closer to solving humanity's
greatest challenges around the world.
