The Tech Awards Gala

The Tech Museum, along with its partners and sponsors, celebrated the technological innovations of twenty-five remarkable Laureates from 11 countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Guatemala, India, Nepal, Nigeria, Singapore, the United States, and Uruguay. And while the Laureates are headquartered in these countries, the impact from their projects extends to 37 countries around the world.

Global Humanitarian Award

The Global Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual, corporation, or organization that has been a distinguished leader in promoting solutions for the most serious issues facing humanity and our environment, as outlined by the Millennium Report of the United Nations. The recipient is selected by the Tech Museum.

Jim Morgan, Chairman of Applied Materials, was the 2004 recipient, being recognized for his exemplary leadership in creating an international program and network, The Tech Museum Awards, which supports innovators applying technology to solve or improve the greatest challenges facing humanity and the environment.

This year marked the fourth year of The Tech Awards. The Awards Program has now honored 100 innovators from around the world and has awarded a total of $1,000,000 in cash prizes to encourage continued innovations and to honor the contributions Laureates are making in applying technology to solve global challenges.
